- Madeon - Pop Culture (Live Mashup)
Madeon doing a live mashup of 39 songs he likes. Insane and magical at the same time. There are enough cuts and flawless transitions that this piece of art isn’t simply a song. It’s a performance.
Full list of the songs he used in the video’s description. (Daft Punk, Kylie Minogue, Bag Raiders, Gaga, Alphabeat, and so many more.)
Mansions on the Moon takes an epic track in Deadmau5’s Strobe and turns up the ambient dosage with vocal chants in the background that come in around the 1 minute marker. Elegant. Check out their entire mix tape (Paradise Falls).

Clock Opera doing a mix with some of Hype Machine’s top tracks of 2010. So amazing.
My favorite parts:
- The entire beginning? 3-3:30 to ~8:15 specifically.
- When you hear the lyrics of LCD Soundsystem’s Drunk Girls come on around 11:40.
- Around 17:30 when Deadmau5’s Some Chords is overlaid with Uffie’s Difficult. “Don’t worry if I write rhymes, I write checks.”
The Deadmau5 remix = gold, but you still have to respect the original.
For all the hype surrounding the new album, 4x4=12, people seem to forget that Deadmau5 has a wonderfully large library of classics just waiting to be devoured. Strobe, probably one of my favorite overall tracks of this genre, delivers less of a simple song and more of a whole movement. Ambient, crisp, and full of transitions, Strobe doesn’t just make you want to dance, it makes you feel it first, then it pulls you into it.
